Intern Introductions: Greta Wright

Meet Greta Wright. Greta initially interned at Bolton Valley with Vermont Adaptive during the winter of 2022 and has returned for another year of interning at Bolton Valley and helping with the winter climbing program. Currently pursuing her undergraduate degree in Health Science at the University of Vermont, Greta is going to start her accelerated Master of Public Health program this spring. Originally from Swampscott, Massachusetts, she developed a passion for water activities like sailing and scuba diving during her upbringing. After spending a summer in the mountains during high school she found her love for them, leading to a deep involvement in the outdoor world.

Over the past six years, Greta has been a ski/ride instructor at Okemo Mountain and spent three summers leading high school backpacking trips for Overland Summers. This past summer, she led a group of 17-18 year olds in Wyoming through The Grand Tetons and Yellowstone National Park.

Greta’s commitment extends to the UVM Outing Club, where she served as a trip leader, led the leader development program, and spent the last year as the Director of Development overseeing all outing club development programs. Additionally, she contributes to Chicks and Sticks, a female-identifying ski/snowboard club at UVM, by leading sunrise skins for their annual fundraiser. An enthusiastic snowboarder, Greta takes pleasure in sunrise skins, enjoys backpacking and trail running, and has a soft spot for Trader Joe’s mini peanut butter cups.

Did you know that Vermont Adaptive hosts more than 20 interns a year, in both the winter and spring/summer/fall seasons? If you know of someone who may benefit from an internship, please share! Applications can be found online.
