Hi, my name is Grant Edebohls. I am from Shelburne, Vermont, and I am an 18-year-old intern with Vermont Adaptive at the Burlington Waterfront, Bolton Valley, and Sugarbush locations.
In the year 2020, I became an athlete for Vermont Adaptive, and in the year 2023, I began my internship with the organization. Before becoming an intern, I was an apprentice for a year and a half learning about adaptive athletes and preparing to become an intern. I am a level one Certified Adaptive Recreation and Sports Specialist through Blaze Sports, and I am currently working towards the second level of certification.
My favorite part about working with Vermont Adaptive is putting smiles on athletes’ faces, providing them with lessons, teaching them fundamental sports skills, and having fun while doing so.
Skiing is one of my most significant hobbies and passions, and Vermont Adaptive made it possible for me to participate in it. My favorite ski area is Bolton Valley and my favorite trail is Spillway. Other activities I enjoy doing with Vermont Adaptive are mountain biking and kayaking. In addition, woodworking and metalworking are two hobbies that I enjoy doing in my spare time. Some fun facts about me are that my favorite food is steak, my favorite musician is Taylor Swift, and I have two chocolate labs and two cats who are my constant companions.
Did you know that Vermont Adaptive hosts more than 20 interns a year, in both the winter and spring/summer/fall seasons? If you know of someone who may benefit from an internship, please share! Applications can be found online.
